What Was The Mood During The Ascension Of Jesus?

THE SCENE DURING JESUS CHRISTS ASCENSION 

AfterJesus ascended to Heaven in the presence of His disciples, an angel of the Lord appeared to the disciples as they watched Him. When we accompany a friend or family member to the bus park or to the airport, we often wave goodbye to them with tears and we usually watch the car they board till it's out of sight. If it's a flight, we would stand and watch the plane till it's invisible.

So the disciples of Jesus witness their master carried to heaven without any aid of an engine or gas-aided man-made machines. Let us read Acts 1:10-11

Act 1:10  They were staring into the sky as he departed. Suddenly, two men in white clothes stood near them. 

Act 1:11  They asked, “Why are you men from Galilee standing here looking at the sky? Jesus, who was taken from you to heaven, will come back in the same way that you saw him go to heaven.” 

Here the disciples witnessed three separate supernatural scenes. Supernaturalral means it is beyond what humans can do.

1. Jesus ascension: It was unusual to see His feets leaving the ground and heading towards heaven. How would you feel if you were one of the disciples?

2. Angels Appeared: Thirdly, the disciples saw angels, not humans speaking to them about Jesus. 

3. Clouds appeared: It was again unusual to see clouds forming as they watch Jesus going up.

Since Jesus went to heaven, over 2000 years now, He has not yet returned to take His followers, by His followers I mean the Church which consists of all those who believe and accepted Him as their Lord and Savior. In Mathew 11:28 He promised a home for those who believe and abide in Him.

John 14:2  My Father’s house has many rooms. If that were not true, would I have told you that I’m going to prepare a place for you? 

John 14:3  If I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again. Then I will bring you into my presence so that you will be where I am.

A boy told his girlfriend when they get married, his father and mother and all his family members will be happy and life will be better. Every time when this boy is going to school, his girlfriend would shed tears as she sees him boarding the bus. This girl realized her fiance is genuinely in love with her because he left everything and followed her. Despite her poor status, she now receives calls from his rich parents, his brothers, and his sisters this gave her hope and she could not wait to get married and unite with him.

Equally, when the disciples saw Jesus going to heaven, they knew this is true Love with evidence of pierced hands, they have the Holy Spirit to remind them and empower them to carry on with the commission. Even nowadays, true believers are never left alone.
