What Does the New Testament Bible Say About Music?

THE LONGEST BOOK IN THE BIBLE IS THE BOOK OF MUSIC: Music is important part of every

society. Looking in the bible, the longest book in the whole Bible is the book of Music, the

book of Psalms accounting to over 7 percent of the entire old testament.

OCCASIONS IN THE NEW TESTAMENTS THAT FEATURED MUSIC

We find music in the book of Song of Solomon, Ecclesiastes, and some

MUSIC IN HEAVEN.

Revelation 5:9-13 Then they sang a new song, “You deserve to

take the scroll and open the seals on it, because you were slaughtered. You bought

people with your blood to be God’s own. They are from every tribe, language, people,

and nation. You made them a kingdom and priests for our God. They will rule as

kings on the earth.” Then I heard the voices of many angels, the four living creatures,

and the leaders surrounding the throne. They numbered ten thousand times ten

thousand and thousands times thousands. In a loud voice they were singing, “The

lamb who was slain deserves to receive power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor,

glory, and praise.” I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and

on the sea. Every creature in those places was singing, “To the one who sits on the

throne and to the lamb be praise, honor, glory, and power forever and ever.”

Revelation 15:2-3Then I saw what looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire. Those who had

won the victory over the beast, its statue, and the number of its name were standing on the

glassy sea. They were holding God’s harps and singing the song of God’s servant Moses

and the song of the lamb. They sang, “The things you do are spectacular and amazing, Lord

God Almighty. The way you do them is fair and true, King of the Nations.

  • JESUS & HIS DISCIPLES SUNG: During the Lords supper, Jesus and His disciples

sung, After they sang a hymn, they went to the Mount of Olives.

Matthew 26:30

  • APOSTLES SUNG IN PRISON:

Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of

praise to God. The other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly, a violent

earthquake shook the foundations of the jail. All the doors immediately flew open,

and all the prisoners’ chains came loose.

Acts 16:25-26. Their Music and prayer sparked a miracle. Let believers also sing and

the world which is in prison s listen. They are in prison of sin but unfortunately they want to

sing more than Christs followers.

  • MARY SUNG AFTER SHE WAS CHOSEN TO BE THE EARTHLY MOTHER OF

OUR LORD JESUS.

Mary said, “My soul praises the Lord’s greatness! My spirit finds its joy in God, my Savior,

because he has looked favorably on me, his humble servant. “From now on, all people will

call me blessed because the Almighty has done great things to me. His name is holy. For

those who fear him, his mercy lasts throughout every generation. “He displayed his mighty

power. He scattered those who think too highly of themselves. He pulled strong rulers from

their thrones. He honored humble people. He fed hungry people with good food. He sent rich

people away with nothing. “He remembered to help his servant Israel forever. This is the

promise he made to our ancestors, to Abraham and his descendants.”

Luke 1:46-55.

● ANGELS ANNOUNCE CHRISTS BIRTH BY SINGING

Suddenly, a large army of angels appeared with the angel. They were praising God by

saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those who have his good

will!” The angels left them and went back to heaven. The shepherds said to each other,

“Let’s go to Bethlehem and see what the Lord has told us about.”

Luke 2:13-15

● THE CHURCH IS COMMANDED TO COMMUNICATE WITH MUSIC

Don’t get drunk on wine, which leads to wild living. Instead, be filled with the Spirit by reciting

psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs for your own good. Sing and make music to the Lord

with your hearts.

Ephesians 5:18-19
