What Should Be The Priorities Of A Christian? Day 2

In the previous article, we saw how Jesus' priority was "God". Today let's dive deep into more exposition on Day Two.

Back in the Old Testament, Moses told the murmuring Jews the reason why they are suffering and wandering in the wilderness is that they have their priorities against God. Moses told them they will have a change in mandate when they reach the promised land, remember Gods word to Moses when He told him to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites free so that they will come and serve Him. This was the primary reason for redeeming them because they were not familiar with serving God. They were merely doing hard labor laying bricks and so forth. Let me remind you of what Jesus said that the reason why God is not leaving Him is that He is doing God’s will, ironically the Jews were not doing what God expects!

If doing God’s will makes Him not leave you, then not doing His will makes Him abandon you like He abandoned His Children because they were after the meat of Egypt but Moses quickly warn them to wait to see what God is about to do. When you are in Christ, just as Jesus said, God will never leave you. Allow me to quote the time when the Jews were encamped on the cross, Balaam and Balak failed to curse them. What if they were in their priorities? When Balaam was on the mountain top cursing the Jews, they (the Jews) were encamped in the cross in Unity.

Many times most of us get in trouble and take our rightful solution which is wrong before God, for example going to witch doctors or consulting mediums but Jesus always abides by God's ways making God always be with Him even if it means pain! When we are in God’s will, we ask Him for anything and He will answer us immediately. People always remember people who are with them in the most challenging times, this applies to Government leadership where you find the top Ministers or soldiers with a higher ranking are the ones who supported their government in the most challenging times. Equally, in our spiritual journeys, God tests us in hard times and those who remained faithful without turning away are His loyal followers and thus experience His blessings.

Let’s look at John 4:5,7,27 “He had to travel through Samaria,” 7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. “Give Me a drink,” Jesus said to her, 27Just then His disciples arrived, and they were amazed that He was talking with a woman. Yet no one said, “What do You want?” or “Why are You talking with her?” Carefully let’s look at the phrase in verse 4, “He had to...” it means Jesus knew a Ministry is awaiting Him. The disciples never met with Him, for them they were hungry and looking for food, that’s why they were wondering as Jesus speaks with a woman. They are wondering because they never planned to go to a woman but it’s because God directed Jesus.

One day Jesus was teaching about Him being the bread of life and most of the disciples wanted to quit because they didn’t understand the teaching but Jesus asked them in John 6:61, 67-69 Jesus, knowing in Him that His disciples were complaining about this, asked them, “Does this offend you? Therefore Jesus said to the Twelve, “You don’t want to go away too, do you?” Simon Peter answered, “Lord, who we will go to? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and know that You are the Holy One of God!”

Peter personally chose to follow Christ, because Jesus follows God's will, and anyone who follows Him ends up in heaven! Many may quit, but what is your personal decision? This is the question to ask.

Thanks
